Virtual Console update: Snow day!
Despite offering only one game today, Nintendo hits us with one of their best releases on the Virtual Console yet.

Those of you who have followed Nintendo’s Virtual Console releases the past several weeks — perhaps the past month — may have been wondering if we would get some sort of payoff for bearing through week after week of getting only two games at a time. So when I heard that today would only see one VC release, I winced. But fear not, for today’s offering is certainly worth waiting through the drought (and worth your money).
1080° Snowboarding — Nintendo 64, 1-2 Players, 1000 points. Right off the bat I’m saying download this now because it’s definitely worth your money. That being said, I’ll now introduce the game. 1080° Snowboarding was a release that, like Wave Race 64, brought an exclusive extreme sports title to the Nintendo 64 (interestingly enough, future games in the 1080° and Wave Race series would have crossover playable characters). With multiple tracks, semi-realistic physics, unlockable characters, courses and boards, and two-player mode, 1080° was a hit right out of the gate. The game went on to become one of Nintendo’s Player’s Choice titles, but now you can nab it for $10. Now that you’re done reading, go do that. Now.
I’ll overlook the single offering today because it’s an awesome one. But next week, Nintendo…let’s see three releases again, okay?
